Nigerians have been urged to expect divine healing in the coming months with the German pentecostal evangelist, Reihnard Bonnke in a crusade the organisers, Christ for All Nation (CfAN), the umbrella body for the evangelist, tagged farewell gospel crusade in Africa.
Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, chairman, Central Working Committee (CWC) for the Farewell Crusade and Passing the Burning Torch Conference in Africa, in a press conference said Bonnke is being led by God to apply divine approach in bringing solutions and healings to Nigeria.
According to Bamgbola, Nigeria is plagued by socio-economic that appear to have defied human and logical solutions. “Jesus feels the pain Nigerians feel, and so does Bonnke. And this is why God specifically told him to go back to Nigeria this one more time,” he stated.
Speaking further on the crusade, Bamgbola opined that Bonnke had said many times that Nigeria has great potentials, but forces militating against it are holding it down. According to him, the results are the many social vices that have held down Nigeria’s economic growth.
“We hear of a number of kidnap cases in Nigeria; rising incidents of armed robbery as well as rape and sexual harassments against minors becoming daily occurrences. Youth restiveness across the country seems to have created pockets of violence in some regions forcing the Army to take certain measures to police the country. While these persist, we see Government struggle with lean resources and rising corruption in private and public sectors,” he said.
The farewell crusade would however be complemented by a side event tagged “Passing the Burning Torch” Conference where willing ministers of God in Africa are expected to catch the Reinhard Bonnke fire for greater exploits.
John Darku, Africa Director, CfAN in his remarks said with the farewell crusade, Bonnke will be passing the torch of apostolic evangelism to brethren in Africa, starting from Lagos. “For, Evangelist Bonnke, the work in Africa will be over, but from us in Africa, the work has just begun,” he said.
Speaking further he said, “If we look around us, we will observe that there is a lot of despair, hopelessness, poverty, sickness, and souls that have no peace. It will take only God to restore peace to the hearts of the broken men and women that you see walking around. But God will also need men to help with the work of the great harvest of souls,” Darku stated.
The crusade scheduled to hold on Wednesday November 8 to Sunday 12 November beside the Sparklight Estate, opposite OPIC Events Center, Isheri, after the Berger Bus Stop Lagos is expected to attract about 30 million Nigerians, with about 10 million attendances daily.
