BeautybyTejj, Mavin Records host IWD programme focused on skills and identity

BeautybyTejj Studio, in collaboration with Mavin Records, hosted the “Master Your Face” masterclass at the Mavin Records headquarters in Lagos to mark International Women’s Day 2026. The session brought together fifteen women for a guided experience focused on makeup skills and personal development.

The event aligned with this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “GiveToGain”. It was structured to provide participants with practical knowledge while encouraging reflection on self-worth and identity. Attendees took part in step-by-step demonstrations and interactive sessions designed to support everyday makeup routines.

Beyond technical learning, the organisers aimed to create a space where participants could engage with one another and build connections. The session encouraged open conversation around confidence and self-perception, with a focus on how personal care can influence how individuals see themselves.

Creative Director and Lead Makeup Artist at BeautybyTejj Studio, Olateju Aderonke Omoyajowo, explained the intention behind the initiative. “We were striving to do more than makeup, we wanted to convey the essence of what IWD is all about; Confidence. Self-worth. Celebration, and that is what the women in that room went home with,” she said.

For Mavin Records, the collaboration formed part of its fifth International Women’s Day programme. The label has continued to organise activities that engage women across sectors, with a focus on representation and inclusion. This year’s edition extended that effort through a partnership that combined creative expression with community engagement.

Support for the masterclass also came from Face Coat and BBT Essentials, both affiliated with BeautybyTejj, alongside Ruddy Cosmetics. Their involvement contributed to the delivery of the session and access to products used during the training.

Organisers say the masterclass is part of an ongoing plan to expand similar initiatives. The 2026 edition, they noted, marks the start of future engagements aimed at reaching more women through shared learning and collaboration.
