Senate, FG team in secret meeting over ASUU Strike

Nigerians join JAMB in urging ASUU to call off strike

The leadership of the Senate and the Federal Government team are currently meeting over the protracted strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)

The meeting at the instance of the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, is in a closed-door session.

“Senate President Ahmad Lawan had initiated this social dialogue between the various stakeholders with a view to getting all parties to reach a middle ground and put an end to the strike action embarked upon by ASUU,” tweeted Abubakar Sidiq Umar, a media aide to the Senate President.

Senators present at the meeting includes the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo Agege; Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Sabi ABDULLAHI Chairman, committee on Banking Insurance, and other other financial institutions, Senator Uba Sani, amongst others.
