The MBA Tour admissions fair presents a wonderful opportunity for prospective MBAs to introduce themselves to top international business schools and to network with admissions officers and MBA alumni who are likely a part of the admissions process. Prospective MBAs can also get the resources and information they need to help them make the most out of the application process.
Last week, we reviewed two tips to assist prospective MBAs effectively prepare for this, and any other, admissions fair event. To summarise the article from last week, the tips discussed were for participants to: do a self-assessment and pick your target schools at the event.
We continue with the second part of this series, providing additional insight to help you get the most out of the event this Saturday, and other such admissions fairs.
Speak to as many schools as possible. It may seem intimidating, but if you don’t speak to a school which later you realise was relevant, you may regret it. Gather as much information as you can, regardless of whatever stage of the application process you’re at. Don’t miss an opportunity to learn something which could make a significant difference.

Bring a friend:
Showing up to an MBA fair alone can feel like showing up to a party where you don’t know anyone. Bringing a friend to your MBA fair can help calm any nerves you may have, aid you in asking important follow-up questions if you approach schools together, and provide you with someone to discuss school impressions at the end.
Always be prepared. Attend the event with copies of your professional resume and be ready for anything – even an on the spot interview. Remember to dress appropriately and have a shortlist of questions you want to ask.
