Morenike Fajemisin is the Founder and CEO of Whispa Health. After being involved in the health industry as a pharmacist at multiple corporate levels, Morenike saw the need to create a company that focused on family planning, public health programmes, women and children’s health, and utilising technology to provide healthcare solutions.

Her business Whispa Health created Whispa, a mobile app that allows everyone to privately access quality healthcare, particularly sexual and reproductive health information, products, and services. Their goal is to help young people to manage their sexual and reproductive healthcare without shame, judgment, or stigma.

Morenike launched the company in Nigeria and is poised to make Whispa Health, Africa’s top digital health solution provider.

As a female founder with over 10 years of experience and success in the social marketing, regulatory affairs and reproductive health supply chain sector, she led her organisation towards their vision of providing young people in Nigeria and all over the world with shame-free access to quality health information, products and services.

At Whispa, they believe that everyone should have access to quality healthcare provided with integrity, respect, and dignity. They seek an end to the stigmatisation of young people seeking general and reproductive healthcare services. In their view, stigma born out of myths, religion, or social pressure should not hinder sound medical judgment. They believe in a woman’s right to choose what’s best for her own body.

Whispa bridges the gap between technology and healthcare services through the use of innovative software concepts and strategies tailored to the individual needs of their diverse clientele with a view to provide a unique user experience.

Through consistency, competence and care, they aim to build a trust-based relationship with their customers by taking necessary steps to ensure that their client’s healthcare needs are met in strict confidentiality.

Fajemisin has won multiple awards: 2016 winner of the BMGF/Bayer 120 under 40 awards; Ingenuity fund grant (2019), the same year that Whispa was selected by World Health Organisation Africa as one of the Top 30 Health Innovations to look out for. In 2021, she won Bayer’s women empowerment award, Google’s Black Founder Africa Award in same 2021, and in 2022, she received an award/recognition for being an extraordinary leader transforming a field through unorthodox philanthropy. She is also an associate fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society.

Morenike studied pharmacy at Obafemi Awolowo University. She has completed leadership accelerator and received a certificate in Global Health Leadership from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
