Morenike Fajemisin is the Founder and CEO of Whispa Health. After being involved in the health industry as a pharmacist at multiple corporate levels, Morenike saw the need to create a company that focused on family planning, public health programs, women and children’s health, and utilising technology to provide healthcare solutions.

Her business, Whispa Health created Whispa, a mobile app that allows everyone to privately access sexual and reproductive health information, products, and services. Their goal is to help young people, particularly women to manage their sexual and reproductive healthcare without shame, judgment or stigma.

Fajemisin launched the company in Nigeria and is poised to make Whispa Africa’s sexual health solution provider.

Morenike has won multiple awards: 2016 winner of the BMGF/Bayer 120 under 40 awards, Ingenuity fund grant (2019), the same year that Whispa was selected by World Health Organisation Africa as one of the ‘Top 30 Health Innovations’ to look out for, Bayer’s women empowerment award 2021, Google’s Black Founder Africa Award 2021, and the 2022 award/recognition for being an extraordinary leader transforming a field through unorthodox philanthropy. She is also an associate fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society.

Morenike studied Pharmacy at Obafemi Awolowo University. She recently completed a leadership accelerator and received a certificate in Global Health Leadership from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She has also completed the theory component of the Sexual Health Educator Certification (SHEC) training offered by Options For Sexual Health B.C.

As a female founder with over 10 years of experience and success in the social marketing, regulatory affairs and reproductive health supply chain sector, she leads her organisation at Whispa Health towards their vision of providing young people in Nigeria and all over the world with shame-free access to quality health information, products and services.

It is also their vision to reduce the rate at which young people seeking sexual and reproductive health care are discouraged by myths, misconceptions and biased health professionals.

As an entrepreneur, Morenike believes you have to be able to make quick decisions in order to stay ahead of competition, respond quickly to changing market conditions and achieve your goals faster.

” There are not many ways to master this skill because it seems to be a long-term skill based off experience. However, if like me you’re looking to develop this capability and run your business more efficiently, then first things first, one has to learn how to set priorities.” She said.
