Ebele Imite-Uka, Co-Founder/CEO Satlatena Nigeria Ltd

Ebele is a sustainable energy, environment and natural resources management expert and entrepreneur. She is a first-class graduate of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State Nigeria, and also holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Environmental Management (Natural Resources Institute) from the University of Greenwich, Medway Campus, United Kingdom.

Imite-Uka is Co-Founder/CEO of Satlatena Nigeria Ltd. She is in charge of the day to day operations and management of Satlatena Gas, focused on the clean energy access through the distribution of LPG cook stoves and fuel to rural and peri-urban communities in Nigeria.
The company is fully committed to activities geared at achieving sustainable development goals (SDGS) in rural communities.

They are positioned to help reduce the high rate of the use of coal or firewood used for cooking or other activities within poor communities, as these results in consistent emission of high level of carbon footprint, which has been detrimental to the health of the inhabitants. It is their ambition to encourage the use of cooking gas rather than coal or firewood through their Satlatena climate action projects and carbon offsets projects.

Satlatena has numerous years of experience and expertise across the LPG value chain in addition to their passion for gender development and women empowerment.

Ebele has over 10 years of professional experience in the sustainable energy, environment and natural resources management; climate projects, clean cooking-energy access sector and/or oil and gas sector specifically. She has undergone several professional trainings and obtained certifications such as certification in Energy Economics, Environment, and Policy from the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Gender Equality by United Nations (UN) Women, Mainstreaming Climate Finance Action in National DFIs from the African Development Bank Group, amongst others.

She is a member of LPG Global Network (World LPG Association), Global Network of Partners at the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, Global Women’s Network for Energy Transition (GWNET), Gender and Energy Network (Collaboration for Development, World Bank Group), Women’s Energy Council, London, United Kingdom, United Nations (UN) Women – Empower Network, Institute of Safety Professionals (Nigeria) and Clean Energy Business Network (USA).

Imite-Uka has years of experience in consulting for organisations such as African Development Bank (AFDB), ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), GFA Consulting Group GmbH, CARE International, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO NL), Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Dutch Coalition for Humanitarian Innovation (DCHI), and worked on various climate and energy efficiency projects resulting to energy transition, sustainable environment and economic development.
