Chima Ebor is the value centre general manager, affluent banking in the Retail Business of Standard Chartered Bank, Nigeria and West Africa. She is responsible for development and execution of the strategic agenda across priority, premium and branch banking to deliver sustainable growth. She is an innovative commercial leader with credible and diverse exposure in the financial services and telecommunications sector ranging from product development, retail banking, strategy, business development, treasury, and business operations to mention a few.
Her experience working across West Africa has given her credible exposure working in highly competitive and challenging business markets whilst ensuring to surpass corporate goals and targets. Moreso, her track record of working in the emerging markets landscape and understanding the intricacies of developing same, has given her an edge in her career, and has led to her receiving several compelling industry awards and recognition during her work life span.
With years of experience in managing and growing the affluent segment across Nigeria and West Africa, she has led multiple teams to deliver customer-centric solutions, drive revenue growth, and enhance brand loyalty. Ebor has also contributed to the bank’s mission of promoting financial inclusion, sustainability, and social responsibility in the region. She is passionate about creating value for their customers, employees, and stakeholders, and is always eager to learn new skills and explore new opportunities.
Chima holds a master’s degree in Credit Management from International University, Panama, Central America and Bachelor’s degree in English and Literature from the University of Benin. She is a senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), a Fellow with the Institute of Credit Administration, Certified Credit and Financial Analyst, Certified Management Consultant, Fellow, Institute of Management Consultant and more.
Ebor is a recipient of the 2020 Female X-Factor Achiever Award for Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIBN). This is an award for the most inspirational female banker, who has a proven track record of outstanding management and leadership prowess in the financial services sector in Nigeria, either as an employee or a stakeholder.
She is also a recipient of the 2022 Champion Newspapers Women Empowerment and Wealth Creation Icon of the Year.
Chima is the programme lead for the most outstanding financial product lunch of the year (Women winning with Wealth) by Brandcom awards.
She is happily married and blessed with beautiful children. She is involved in charity through her activities in Rotary club and local community services. She also enjoys reading and travelling.
