Ola Brown’s new book equips start-ups with funding strategies

Ola Brown, founder, Healthcap Africa, a venture capital firm focusing on fintech and health-tech startups, recently launched her new book, “Journey To Series A” to equip African startups, entrepreneurs with funding strategies.

According to her, the guide book aims to guide founders, funders, and policymakers through the journey of securing Series A funding.

Sharing the inspiration to write the book, Brown noted that the Series A funding round serves as a pivotal moment for startups, representing their first encounter with institutional capital. Sadly, fewer than 10 percent of seed-funded startups advance to secure Series A funding, often due to challenges in navigating this intricate stage.

The launching of “Journey To Series A” was via a webinar hosted by Healthcap Africa in June, had over 3,000 participants and an active audience of 1,000. The webinar also featured dignitaries in the venture capital sphere.
