In line with its goal to accelerate the growth and excellence of impact investing in Nigeria, BusinessDay has launched  Impact Investing radio show on Nigeria Info 99.3 Fm. The program is anchored by Lehle Balde, Senior Associate, Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships at BusinessDay.

Impact Investing Today radio show is a weekly radio show that aims at creating more attention on the benefits and opportunities as well as provide insight into the state of Impact Investment in Africa.

The first episode aired on the 5th of February and was entitled “The impact investing & policies landscape Analysis: Nigeria and Ghana,” from a report and research conducted by Dalberg advisors. Astou Dia, associate partner at Dalberg and  Ivory Coast office head was the guest on the show.

According to the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), impact investments are investments made with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. Impact investments can be made in both emerging and developed markets, and target a range of returns from below market to market rate, depending on investors’ strategic goals.

The growing impact investment market provides capital to address the world’s most pressing challenges in sectors such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, conservation, microfinance, and affordable and accessible basic services including housing, healthcare, and education.

The radio show is powered by Ford foundation, Impact investing foundation and Nigeria info FM.
