Voter apathy and inducement characterised some polling centres in FCT

There is a general voter apathy alongside voter inducement at the ongoing municipal elections in some parts of the federal capital Territory,BusinessDay findings has shown.

In Unit 001C Byazhin water board polling station in Federal Capital Territory for instance ,the INEC ad hoc officers,and Assistant Presiding officers appear to be on holiday as BusinessDay investigation shows only 15 persons had been able to cast their votes,as at the time of filing this report.so

Party agents from the ruling APC are seen laying seige on intending voters and offering transport fare and a bottle coke if your voted for their candidates.

The APC party agent at the polling station was seen screaming,”Madam voter for us, and be assured of your transport and launch.We own the police,the military and everything in Nigeria don’t be afraid.You are secured.We own everything.”

Business outlets and shops within the districts and municipalities of Kubwa and Bwari Area Council are seen doing their business without even an interruption by the law enforcement agents.

Voter apathy generally characterised attitude of voters as many said they are not prepared to go that extra mile again to cast their votes as they have lost confidence in the electoral body.

Police constables and officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps are seen relaxing and exchanging pleasantries and having less offenders to contend with as people are going about doing their normal business.
