The presidency and leadership of the Aso Villa Chapel Sunday denied speculations that the chapel has been closed down by the current administration.

‎Sharing photos of the church service which held at the chapel to buttress its claims, it described the rumour as the handiwork of mischief makers.

The social media has been awash with news that President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the closure of the Aso Villa Chapel which is close to his official residence.

Fielding questions from State House correspondents after the church service on Sunday, the acting chaplain Pastor Joseph Sheyi Malomo, admitted that though there were some procedural issues last Sunday that needed to be sorted out, at no time did the presidency order the closure of the chapel.

The cleric appealed to Nigerians to ignore the rumour and focus rather on issues that will unit the country.

In his sermon titled ‘Securing the glorious destiny of out posterity’, Malomo explained that Nigeria has a glorious destiny that is unique.

The first bible reading was taken from 2 Samuel 3:1-3 while the second was taken from Job 1:1-5 and Psalm 139 from verse 14 and 15.

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was absent at the service.
