The Senate, on Wednesday, declared the Comptroller-General of Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Hameed Ali unfit to hold public office.
To this end, the upper legislative chamber urged the embattled Customs boss to resign from office, following his refusal to wear Customs uniform and appear before it.
The decision of the Senate, followed a closed door session, where lawmakers brainstormed on the issue.
The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, also came under fire, over a letter he wrote to the Senate, wherein he urged it to maintain status quo ante on the appearance of Ali, on the grounds that the matter was already a subject of litigation.
