NSE All-Share Index grows by 0.72%

Equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended on Tuesday in the upbeat note with the market indices appreciating by 0.72 per cent.

The All-Shares Index rose by 299.4 points or 0.72 per cent to close at 41,806.73 in contrast to 41,507.30 posted on Monday.

The market capitalisation, which opened at N13.283 trillion, appreciated by N96 billion or 0.72 per cent to close at N13.379 trillion.

Dangote Cement recorded the highestprice gain to lead the gainers table by N11 to close at N235 per share. UACN came second with a gain of N3.35 to close at N70.35 per share.

Cadbury appreciated by N1.66 to close at N58.27, while Uac-Prop gained 97k to close at N20.52 per share.

On the other hand, Total topped the losers’ chart, losing N6.50 to close at N175.46 per share. ConOil trailed with a loss of N5.97 to close at N55.35 per share.

Oando dropped N2.34 to close at N21.73, while Guinness lost N1.87 to close at N238.08 per share.

The volume of shares traded increased by 28.04 per cent with 417.498 million shares worth N6.34 billion traded in 6,448 deals.

This was in contrast to the 326.057 billion shares valued at N2.912 billion traded in 5,365 deals on Monday.

FBNH emerged the most traded stock with 78.35 million shares valued at N1.26 million.

It was followed by Unity Bank with 32.36 million shares valued at N16.18, while Resortsal traded 30.00 million shares worth N15.00 million.

NEM sold 24.71 million shares valued at N21.89 million, while UBA accounts for 24.03 million valued at N221.88 million.

NAN
