The National Statistics Bureau (NBS) said on Thursday that Nigeria’s consumer inflation hit 8.5 percent year-on-year in March, up slightly from 8.4 per cent in February.

Food inflation, the biggest contributor to the main consumer index was 9.4 percent in March, unchanged from the previous month, the statistics office said.
