During this week, coaching practitioners around the world rally together to increase the visibility, understanding and impact of professional coaching by creating an opportunity for individuals and organisations to “Experience Coaching”. The theme of this year’s event is “Coaching: Transforming Organisations and Individuals”.
This year, ICF Nigeria is bringing together individual professional coaches and their clients in Nigeria and across Africa, representing a wide variety of coaching specialisations, to share their experiences on radio, TV, in public spaces, in organisations, and at their signature breakfast seminar.
The week starts on Monday 15th May with a Corporate Coaching Café where ICF Coaches will hold in-house sensitisation sessions with organisations, about introducing a coaching culture for effective leadership development and to enhance performance.
ICF Nigeria’s flagship event holds on Wednesday 17th May. The day-long Experience Coaching Conference comprises two sessions; a breakfast seminar, commencing at 9am for the public and business leaders; and a coaching workshop in the afternoon starting at 12.30pm for HR practitioners and coaches.
The keynote address will be delivered by Alex Goma, Managing Director –F amily Care, PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC; other speakers are Folake Joyce-Coker, Group HR Director, PZ Cussons Nigeria PLC; Lanre Olusola, Celebrity Life Coach and Therapist for EbonyLifeTV; and Toyin Ademola, Founding Country Director, Association of Chartered Accountants amongst others. This event holds at Four Points by Sheraton, Victoria Island, Lagos.
On Friday 19th May, in collaboration with 6-sub-Saharan countries, (ICF Kenya & South Africa/Coaching associations of Ghana, Zambia & Zimbabwe), Experience Coaching Africa Coaching Cafes will hold. Participating coaches in all these countries, will set up in popular malls, cafes and educational institutions, and offer pro bono coaching to the general public. According to the ICF Nigeria Chapter President, Ajibola Ponnle, “Our goal across these countries during ICW is for ‘every coach to coach one or more’ and amplify what coaching is to Sub-Saharan Africa through the various social media platforms we are using for this initiative”. The coaching Café in Nigeria will hold at Casa Lydia, Ikoyi, Lagos.
