History will be made today with the official opening of BusinessDay’s corporate office, ‘The Brook’, in Apapa, Lagos, by the state governor, Babatunde Fashola.

The event slated for 11 O’clock this morning marks the continuing progression of Nigeria’s premier business daily from its humble beginnings in 2001 in a section of a printing firm, Wordsmith, located in Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos, and subsequent movement to a rented apartment at 72 Amuwo-Festac Link Road, before the final relocation to ‘The Brook’ sitting on 3,000 square metres of land at 6 Point Road, Apapa GRA.

Over the years, the media house, amidst associated challenges of Nigeria’s business environment, has weathered the storm with resilient management, resolute staff, professionals and thorough-bred analysts, carving a niche for itself as the leading business publication in the nation’s media industry, with numerous awards to its credit.

With the opening of the corporate office today, Frank Aigbogun, the publisher/CEO, BusinessDay Media Limited, says the media house is poised to fly even higher and remain the reference point for researchers, business managers and decision makers in the Nigerian business/political environment.

“We have tried to provide a place that not only draws a bit from where we are coming from, but also signposts our future and the future of the business,” said Aigbogun.

The newspaper, which in January this year introduced a new title, ‘BusinessDay Sunday’ (BD Sunday), to the delight of its growing readership, is reputed for its continuing innovations in the quest to satisfy customers and give them value for their money.

For many years the newspaper has maintained its alliance with some of the world’s reputable and widely-read publications, including the Financial Times of London from which contents are published in BusinessDay daily, and The Economist. The newspaper is also into an alliance with the Harvard Business School, making it possible for BusinessDay to publish the weekly Harvard Business Review.
