The Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU says in its latest forecast that Nigeria should expect a change of government following the February 16 presidential election as it insists that President Muhammad Buhari will be defeated by his closest rival Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In a tweet, the EIU described as impolitic the hint by Atiku that he will consider amnesty for corrupt politicians who turn in their loot, saying it would seem the opposition candidate is hard-pressed to convince voters that he is a clean politician.
However, EIU concluded, “we retain our forecast for Abubakar to win, but expected margin of victory is narrowing as the poll approaches.“
