Election: Atiku in Kano, promises wealth if elected

Atiku-Kano

The PDP Presidential Campaign train on Sunday landed in the ancient city of Kano with a promise to create the enabling environment for businesses to thrive, if it wins the forthcoming election.

Addressing a mammoth crowd that graced the party’s presidential campaign rally at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, also promised to diversify the economy by empowering farmers.

The former Vice President also urged the people to vote for the party’s candidates across board in the forthcoming election.

Speaking in Hausa, he said: “If you vote for PDP my own promise is the wealth of Kano is business, Kano’s wealth is agriculture. If you vote for PDP I will return your wealth, create environment for businesses to thrive and empower farmers.

“These people have killed your businesses and farming. I promise you all that I will create wealth and businesses if you vote for PDP. After that, I will also allow you to live freely,” he said.

His message was also reinforced by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki as well as the immediate past Governor of Kano State and serving senator, Rabiu Kwankwanso.

On his part, PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, assured that the PDP would not only tackle the issue of insecurity but also create jobs for the unemployed.

Secondus called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies not to rig the election in favour of APC.

He likened the massive support for the PDP in the state to a revolution.

He said: “Kano has fallen (for PDP). Kano is now 100 percent PDP. You must be convinced that you cannot come to Kano to rig election.

“We call on INEC and security agencies to see what is going on in Kano. It is like a revolution and the people have turned around, they have agreed that they will vote for PDP and therefore on the 16th of February, come out in your numbers, vote for PDP, vote for Atiku.

“He will restore security. He will make sure that jobs are created and he will put food on the table of Nigerians. By the special grace of God, Atiku Abubakar is the next President of Nigeria. And Abba is the next governor of Kano”.
