Former Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, has said the major headache of most state governors was the fall in their monthly allocations, noting that he will find it difficult to cope if he was in power.
Alao-Akala, who recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a recent interview, was quoted to have expressed his joy for not winning the gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
Addressing journalists at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja after meeting with the party’s national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun and other leaders from the South-West geo-political zone, he explained his position further, saying “I pitied the governors because of what they are going through now. I wouldn’t have been able to sleep with these dwindling monthly allocations. That was the reason why I said that. I don’t know how I would have coped. It doesn’t go beyond that,” he said.
The former governor, who said he is now a member of the APC, stated that he was at the APC headquarters to have a discussion with the party leaders.
