President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met behind closed-doors with former military Head of State, Abdusalami Abubakar.
The meeting, scheduled as private, was held inside the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja and lasted for about 30minutes.
It can be recalled that Abdusalami, Chairman of the National Peace Committee had worked towards the peaceful conduct of the last general elections.
The committee had met Buhari and former President Goodluck Jonathan jointly and at separate meetings before and after the elections a well as with both leaders after the inauguration.
At their last meeting with the President, Matthew Kukah, a member of the committee, had told journalists that they had advised the President to follow due process in the administration’s ant-corruption war.
