Baring last minute changes, there are indications that President Muhamamdu Buhari will any moment from now bid farewell to his Ministers.

Most of his Ministers had spent the entire four years with the President having been appointed in November, 2015.

Businessday sources also revealed that some of the Ministers and their Permanent Secretaries are currently being investigated over various allegations, including over inflation of contracts

Chairman of the Presidential Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Properties, Okoi Obono- Obla, while speaking with Businessday on the anti- corruption fight of the federal government, said some of the Ministers and their Permanent Secretary and some Directors are currently “being investigated for contract inflation “ adding that “ there will be no sacred cows under current corrupt fight.”

BusinessDay reliably gathered that the President gave his Ministers two weeks to prepare their hand over notes, ahead of the Cabinet dissolution

A source close to the Cabinet told BusinessDay that the President handed down the order, after the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, on Wednesday.

“Ministers have been given two weeks to prepare their hand over notes, which means the President May resolve the Cabinet any moments from now.

This is just as Businessday gathered that there are intense lobbying amongst the outgoing Ministers for possible reappointment.

“ We do not know if we will come back, but let God’s will be done” said one of the Ministers.

It is however not immediately clear if the President will dissolve the Cabinet before proceeding on a 10 – day leave which is likely to commence next week.

BusinessDay gathered that the leave may be spent in London, as the President is expected to transmit a letter to the National Assembly to intimate them of his plans, any moment.

A source close to the President however could not confirm when the trip will take but simply added that “ the plans are on, but l don’t know when and if he will still go, until he approves it “

Should he proceed on the leave, this will be the sixth time he will be going on “leave” since he assumed power on the 29th of May, 2015.

The President had on the 5th of February, 2016, proceeded on a six-day medical vacation to London.

In June of the same year, the President went on a 10- day medical leave and was to proceed on another travel to the United Kingdom on the 19th of January 2017, to treat “ ear infection”

On the 5th of February , 2017, the President wrote the National Assembly for an extension of his leave while in London, receiving treatments

The President was to embark on another leave again from 7th May, 2017 to London, that lasted for a total of 104 days

Last year however and following great improvements recorded in his health, the President only traveled once for his medicals , when he, on the 8th of May, 2018, proceeded to London for “medical review.”
