Winners have emerged from the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon which is ongoing in Lagos. The race which had participants drawn from more than ten countries has attracted more than 60,000 runners who began the race at the National Stadium Surulere.
Preliminary indications are that the Kenyans and Ethiopians dominated the race from start to finish.
There are preliminary indications that Kenyan Abraham Kiptum was the first man to cross the finish line, while a female Kenyan was the first woman to cross the finish line.
Kiptum won the 42.1km race for the second time after he won the maiden edition in a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes, 21 seconds. Rhoda Jepkhorir of Kenya, first female runner at the Lagos city marathon is also presented with her trophy.
9.15am Ilya Pam Nwanta is the first Nigerian to finish the race and he will be going home with N1million.

Nwanta crossed the finish line before Philip Sharabutu who was the second Nigerian to finish the race. Sharabutu had finished as the first Nigerian in the Lagos city marathon maiden edition last year.
