Shell has taken final investment decision on Nigeria’s Assa North gas-for-power project.

At peak production, the project’s expected output is 300 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, Shell said in a statement.

The gas will be treated at a nearby Shell processing facility and piped through the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben link to local power plants and industries, a Bloomberg report says.

The 4.3 trillion cubic feet Assa North is first of 7 new gas projects agreed with producers including Eni and Total.
