Nigeria to host World Energy Forum in 2021

Nigeria has been scheduled to host next year’s editions of World Energy Forum conference. This was revealed during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Forum to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, a statement issued on Wednesday by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum said.

The president of the World Energy Forum, Harold Hyun Suk OH, the statement informed, led the WEF team and was received by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Bitrus Bako Nabasu.

In his address, the WEF president informed that he was in Nigeria to intimate relevant stakeholders of the Forum’s resolve to have its 2021 conference in Nigeria which, according to him, will be the first of its conference on the African continent.

In his response, Nabasu thanked the WEF leadership for counting Nigeria worthy of hosting its conference. He also assured the WEF team of the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a successful hosting.

The Forum’s president thanked the Permanent Secretary for granting audience to his team and emphasized the economic benefits of the WEF Conference to Nigeria, and indeed the African continent.
