Nasara Women Development Foundation, a prominent NGO focused on women’s empowerment and youth development, has appointed Hajiya Bilkisu Muhammad Nasir as its new Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment marks a significant milestone for the foundation, which was established two years ago by Kebbi State First Lady Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris. Since its inception, the organization has emerged as a key advocate for women’s rights and education in the region.
Hajiya Bilkisu brings substantial academic credentials to the role, including a Bachelor’s in Political Science and International Relations and a Master’s in Peace, Conflict, and Strategic Studies from Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in the same field.
“I am honoured and excited to lead Nasara Foundation into its next chapter,” said Hajiya Bilkisu. “My vision is to infuse innovation into our programming to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve.” She emphasized her commitment to building resilient communities capable of driving their own progress.

The foundation’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Alhaji Usman Abubakar, expressed confidence in the appointment. “Hajiya Bilkisu’s exemplary record in strategic leadership, coupled with a profound commitment to community development, position her well to advance the Foundation’s mission,” he said.
Hajiya Bilkisu will oversee program development, partnership building, and fundraising initiatives in her new role. She will have to expand the foundation’s impact while maintaining its core focus on women’s empowerment and youth development programs.
Before her appointment, Hajiya Bilkisu developed expertise in governance and peace-building through her academic work and community involvement. She will now lead the organization’s efforts to create sustainable development programs that benefit women and youth across the region.
