Gombe varsity gets new governing council members

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the appointment of chairman and members of the Governing Council of the Gombe State (GSU).

This is in exercise of the powers conferred on the governor by the Gombe State University Law, 2004.

The secretary to the state government, Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval, announced Joshua Lidani as chairman with Fatima Sawa, Ibrahim Jalo Daudu, and Umaru Gurama as members.

Other members include Hassan Bello and Suleiman Mohammed Kumo.

According to the statement issued by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ismail Uba Misilli, all the appointments are with immediate effect.

Recall that the university was established in 2004, as a member of the Association of Commonwealth, with the aim to provide opportunities for high-quality university education.
