… as board extends registration to May 31
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has rescheduled its 2026 common entrance examination and extended the registration deadline to May 31, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their applications ahead of the exercise.
The board said the examination will now be held from June 6 to June 13, to accommodate more applicants and ensure a smooth registration process.
Uchechukwu Olisah, assistant director od media and protocol at NABTEB, made this known in a statement on Sunday in Benin, Edo State capital, where he said that the approval for the extension was conveyed by Aminu Mohammed, the registrar and chief executive officer of NABTEB, which was communicated through an internal memorandum signed by Chigoziem Metu, the board’s director of examinations administration.
“With this extension, the registration for the National Common Entrance Examination will close on Sunday, May 31, while the examination, earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 6, will now be held on Saturday, June 13,” he said.
The board’s spokesperson explained that the extension followed requests from prospective candidates seeking additional time to complete their registration processes.
Olisah emphasised that the registrar expected candidates to take advantage of the extension to conclude all registration formalities before the new deadline.
Besides, he explained that Mohammed is encouraging entrepreneurially inclined students and candidates seeking admission into technical colleges to register for and participate in NABTEB examinations.
