Why LG extended 10-year warranty to product lines

LG Electronics, global leader in consumer electronics, has extended 10-year warranty to a range of home appliances, air conditioners and energy solutions products in Nigeria.

The electronics giant has extended the warranty to refrigerators, chest freezers and air conditioners with inverter linear compressors. Others with the 10-year warranty include: washing machines with inverter direct drive motor, charcoallighting heater in charcoal microwave and cordless vacuum cleaner with smart inverter motor.

This is the first time an electronics firm is extending 10-year warranty to these products in the country.

This gesture is aimed at delivering next-level convenience and satisfying its teeming consumers, said the company.

Speaking at the event, Hyunwoo Jung, general manager, home appliances division, LG Electronics, West Africa operations,. said: “At LG, we understand that durability is just as important as strong performance. A large range of our products comes backed by 10-year warranty, ensuring worry-free operation year after year. LG Electronics is the first electronics brand in Nigeria to offer a decade-long warranty of reliability on a large gamut of its product offerings. The 10 year warranty offering covers only specific parts of the selected products from the date of purchase”.

The dual door-in-door™ utilises LG’s revolutionary inverter linear compressor, allowing it to consume 26 percent less energy and produce 25 percent less noise.

LG’s front load / top load washing machine comes with an inverter direct drive motor, which has six different rotational motion such as filtration, rolling, stepping, swing, scrubbing & tumbling, designed to give the consumer the best washing performance.

Also, the LG chest freezer comes with the super-fast blast freezing features and the low voltage stabiliser (LVS).

More so, the charcoal lighting heater microwave with light wave technology offers a multi-heating system designed to cook healthier, tastier, gourmet-standard food with the minimum of fuss.

Furthermore, the LG CordZero™ 2 in 1 handstick vacuum cleaner employs the company’s innovative smart inverter motor, which delivers better performance.

As high electricity bill remains an issue to many households in Nigeria, the LG Champion II AC demonstrates great edge over other conventional floor stand ACs as it offers quality energy savings as it comes with variable tonnage.

There is also the LG Champion II AC, which offers uniform cooling as it comes with the 4D cooling. This four-directional auto swing functions, with electable horizontal and vertical swings, blow cool air in multiple directions.

LG gen cool inverter air conditioner, which is designed for Nigerian market, meets the demands of customers who want to use air conditioners with small capacity generators. It comes with benefits ranging from affordability, energy efficiency and durability. Unlike the conventional AC (ON/OFF types), which requires big size generator to start AC due to high start-up electric power, LG gen cool AC can be started with smaller generator due to LG inverter technology.

Blessing Obiesie, marketing assistant, home appliances, LG Electronics, who conducted journalists round an LG shop in Lagos, said before now, warranty has been for only two years, while 10-year warranty has been for bigger products.

“This will attract no extra cost. When you buy any product for us, you can visit any of our service centres if there is any issue you wish to sort out,” Obiesie said.
