A raft of leading stakeholders in the Nigerian education landscape have been lined up to speak at the Corona Schools’ Educators’ Roundtable in a key move to design ways to transform Nigeria’s education sector.

According to a statement by the school, prominent varsity dons such as Folasade Ogunsola, vice chancellor, University of Lagos; Peter Okebukola, emeritus professor of science and computer education, Lagos State University have been lined up for the event.

Peter Bamkole, deputy vice-chancellor, Pan African University, amongst other highly revered educationists, will also be in attendance to discuss key insights that will drive the desired transformation in Nigeria’s education sector.

The event themed “Re-Set: Global Perspectives on Educational Transformation, Lessons and Insights for Nigeria’s Future”, will be held on March 6th at the Muson Centre to commemorate the institution’s 70th anniversary.

“The forum would offer a veritable platform for experts, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate and cross-pollinate ideas that will shape the future of Nigeria’s education sector,” the school said in a statement.

The Educators’ Roundtable is coming on the heels of the school’s Staff Day celebration, where some staff members were rewarded for their outstanding performance at work while others were recognized for their dutiful long service to the Corona brand.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Christiana Yellowe, human resources manager, Corona Schools’ Trust Council, acknowledged that it was an annual ritual for the school to celebrate staff members who have performed exceptionally well.

“Our greatest asset is our people, and we make it a point of duty to celebrate them annually. We recognize outstanding performances and those that have stayed true to the brand in terms of longevity,” Yellowe said.

She further narrated that for the long service award, the school recognized and rewarded over 80 staff members who had spent either 10 years, 20 years, 25 years or 30 years in the school.

According to her, these individuals have not only remained committed to the school but have also exemplified the school’s core values of merit, stewardship, commitment, dedication, and professionalism in discharging their duties.
