Mince Concept partners NEPC, others to host manufacturers on AfCFTA

Finance, others limit Nigeria’s cosmetics export opportunity

Mince Concept International Limited says it is collaborating with relevant institutions to host a one-day town hall meeting for cosmetics and beauty products manufacturers with focus on African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

These institutions are the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and NICERT.

The meeting which will hold on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at NECA Building, Ikeja, Lagos has the theme, ‘Breaking Barriers of MSMEs in Cosmetics Industry for Enhanced Production Capacity, Sales and Export In AfCFTA and Beyond.’

Mince Concept in a statement in Lagos on Monday explained that the collaborative effort is to prepare and provide strategic interventions for MSMEs in the cosmetics sector not only for export, but also through the entire production and sales value chain.

The statement noted that lack of finance, cost competitiveness, quality, certifications, logistics and market access are some of the huge hindrances to MSME, disclosing that Mince International Concept would be unveiling its strategic inventions that would mitigate against these challenges.

The company is geared towards implementing its various intervention strategies in all MSME sectors under its project with the theme, ‘MSME: Road To Export.’

It has, however, chosen the cosmetics and beauty products due to their strategic and comparative advantage in the continent and beyond. The sector is constituted mainly by women and youth.

The event is open to all micro, small or medium enterprise manufacturers in the beauty and cosmetic sector.
