Mandilas Group, MUSON kick off mood of Yuletide Season with Christmas Concert

Mandilas Group, a multi-sector organization that provides a wide range of internationally renowned products and Musical Society of Nigeria, MUSON have kicked off the Season of Christmas and New Year with Christmas Concert organised in Lagos.

The concert involving MUSON and Mandilas Choirs came to brighten situations and put smiles and liveliness on the faces of Nigerians amidst challenging periods the country, businesses and individuals went through this year.

As acknowledged by many people, 2020 was particularly a difficult year on account of Covid- 19 pandemic which laid prostrate several businesses while many organisations and institutions were adversely affected. The year was also marred by ENDSARS protest that disrupted business and recession which Nigeria slipped into in the third quarter of the year.

To enliven situations and encourage Nigerians to be cheerful and ultimately prepare them for Christmas, a celebration to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, MUSON choir, comprising about 30 sopranos and guitarists sang various Christmas songs to the delight of the audience who cheered and clapped.

Speaking to Businessday after the concert on Sunday, December 6, DebayoDoherty said this year supposed to be a big celebration for the Group and Nigerians but because of the difficult situation engendered by Covid-19 and the protests.

She said the concert is appropriate this time as the year is winding down to celebrate a little bit and show love and care to others.

The Group CEO had earlier told Businessday that Mandilas is a learning organisation, an organization that adapts to challenges in its environment and resilient enough to be able to come out of challenges. “At Mandilas, we understand that service excellence is a journey and we must constantly push the bar to get better. To win, we must continuously evolve to meet current market demands and consistently deliver good service experiences at all our touch points”.

Emeka Nwokedi, conductor of MUSON Choir at the colourful event described the concert as very good cooperation between Mandilas and MUSON to celebrate with the group on the season of its 70th anniversary.
