In celebration of International Women’s Day, CodeSphere Hub organized an outreach program aimed at inspiring and empowering young women to explore opportunities in technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence. Hosted within a school environment, the initiative brought together students, educators, and industry contributors with a shared goal to promote inclusion and encourage young women in the digital space.

At a time when the demand for digital skills continues to grow globally, the program provided students with exposure to career possibilities in technology while encouraging them to challenge limiting beliefs and embrace new opportunities. More than a celebration, the event was a platform for learning, mentorship, and personal development.

A vision for inclusion and opportunity

In his address, Oladosu Ibrahim, the MD/Ceo of CodeSphere Hub, told the students: “Recognize your potential and take advantage of the opportunities that technology provides. Success in the digital space is open to anyone willing to learn, grow, and remain consistent.”

The message highlighted that empowering women starts with mindset, believing in one’s ability, taking initiative, and confidently stepping into spaces where they can learn, contribute, and lead.

Inspiring through knowledge and real experiences

A major highlight of the program was the speaker segment, which offered students practical insights and real-world perspectives from women actively building careers in technology.

Insightful perspectives on emerging trends in artificial intelligence and data were shared by Airat Aroyewun, who highlighted the growing relevance of these fields across industries and encouraged students to begin positioning themselves for future opportunities within the digital space. The conversation continued with Rahimah Sulayman, who addressed the realities of navigating STEM as a woman. Emphasis was placed on resilience, confidence, and personal growth, reinforcing the importance of staying determined despite societal and professional challenges.

Practical guidance on initiating a career in technology was provided by Zainab Oladimeji, who simplified the pathway into tech and emphasized the value of consistency, continuous learning, and taking intentional steps toward growth.

Collectively, the sessions delivered a balanced blend of inspiration and actionable insight, equipping students with both the mindset and direction needed to confidently explore opportunities in technology.

Collaboration and support

The program was made possible through the collective efforts of educators, staff, and stakeholders who contributed in various capacities to ensure its smooth execution. Special appreciation is extended to Subair Nurudeen Adewale for his commitment and contributions toward the initiative. Recognition is also given to Mahmud Seidu, Sansa Arafat, Mary Ogunbanwo, Serah Ehinmetan, and Ayoola Aishat for their consistent support and coordination efforts.

The management of the host school also played a pivotal role by providing a welcoming and enabling environment for the initiative, reflecting a commitment to preparing students, particularly young women, for future opportunities beyond the classroom.

A lasting impact

Beyond the presentations and discussions, the program created a meaningful shift in perspective among the students. It encouraged them to see technology as an accessible and achievable path, rather than a distant or difficult field.

The enthusiasm and engagement displayed by the participants reflected a growing interest in exploring careers in technology. Many left the event with a renewed sense of confidence and a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them.

As the world continues to advance digitally, empowering young women with the right skills and mindset is essential for sustainable growth and innovation. Initiatives like this contribute to building a stronger and more inclusive society.

Why it matters

Programs that equip young women with technology skills can have broader benefits. By increasing participation in STEM fields, such initiatives contribute to a more skilled workforce, drive innovation, and support the growth of the digital economy.

Greater inclusion also expands opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment, helping to strengthen productivity and foster long-term development.
