Guinness Nigeria which started business in Nigeria in 1962 has inaugurated its 6.2 million pounds about N3.7 billion new headquarters office in Ikeja.
The modern facility with several offices and bar took 18 months for completion.
The chairman of the company, Mobolaji Johnson said the new office is a reflection of the commitment of the company in Nigeria.
“This is a testimony that Guinness Nigeria is here to stay,” Johnson said.
Denying the rumours that the company plans to leave Nigeria, she said how can a company that has been in Nigeria for 72 years and made such huge investments leave the country. She discarded the rumours.
According to her, the new building which is a state of the art and which represents creativity, collaboration and connection represents the company’s quest to be relevant to its stakeholders.

Speaking earlier, the managing director of the company, Baker Magunda said the new headquarters represents the commitment of Guinness to the Nigeria economy and to give the employees a befitting office for collaboration and creativity.
The event was graced by officials of Deageo from London, representatives of government agencies such as FRSC, Customs, LASTMA and distributors.
Segun Ajayi Kadiri, Director General of MAN congratulated Guinness for staying in Nigeria for 72 years. He said it takes those organisations that believe in Nigeria to continue to invest in the country, saying that Nigeria holds the future for Africa in spite of challenges.
One of the major distributors of the company, Edmond Okafor said most distributors don’t regret doing business with Guinness as there is hope and future in the company.
He said he has grown with Guinness in the last 25 years he has been a distributor of the company.
