The First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited millionaire promotion, tagged ‘’FCMB Millionaire Promo Season 2’’ came to a colorful and exciting end on Wednesday, with winners, customers and the regulatory bodies commending the Bank for sustaining its empowerment support to the populace and the society. The promotion ran for six months between August 2015 and the end of January 2016. It was designed to give extra value to customers of the Bank, while encouraging financial inclusion and savings culture.

At the end of the electronic selection exercise held at the 3 regions and 25 zones of the Bank nationwide and witnessed by thousands of customers, three lucky customers were each rewarded with the star prize of N5million, while three others won N1million each. A total of

640 other account holders smiled home with LED television sets and decoders, tablets, smart phones and other consolation prizes.

Okafor Innocent won the star prize of N5 million at the Lagos/South-West Regional draw which took place at Matori in Lagos, while Odulawa Tolulope received N1million. At the Abuja/North Regional draw held in Abuja, Umaru Augustine emerged as the star prize winner of N5million, just as Aikay and Franscisca Oduoza (a joint account) smiled home with N1million. In the same vein, Eke Michael won N5million at the South-East/South-South draw held in Enugu and Stella Taribi was rewarded with N1million.

Speaking on his wining, Umaru Augustine expressed gratitude to FCMB for, ‘’being a true partner in progress’’. In an excitement laden voice, he added that, ‘’I am very proud to identify with FCMB. This money will help me to further develop myself and my occupation. I have no doubt that I will continue to grow with FCMB, because it has proved that it stands for the progress of the people. The Bank should keep up the good works it is doing to empower people, especially the less privileged’’.

Another winner of N5 million, Eke Michael, described FCMB as a, ‘’friend in need’’. According to him, ‘’I will forever be grateful to the Bank and continue to do business with it. My banking relationship with the Bank has impacted positively on me and this wining is an icing on the cake. I urge the Bank to continue with its excellent services and support to customers’’.

In his comment at the draws ceremony, a Director of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Engineer Shamm Kolo, hailed the Bank for conducting the exercise with integrity. According to him, ‘’FCMB followed due process from the beginning of the promo till the emergence of the various winners. We give kudos to the Bank for coming up with this reward scheme and helping to empower Nigerians’’.

In his address at the ceremony, FCMB’s Divisional Head, Retail Banking, Mr. Olu Akanmu, said that with the grand finale of the draws held nationwide, the Bank has fulfilled the promise it made to customers to reward those who participated and qualified in the promo and the three draws organised during the exercise.

‘’We are encouraged by the huge excitement and participation the Millionaire Promo Season 2 received. Beyond the various prizes that we provided to the winners, the fact that the promo has provided us with an opportunity to encourage savings culture, financial inclusion and empower our customers is very exciting. We have more positive offerings in various developmental stages for our customers. We therefore urge  the general public to seize the opportunity of this promotion to commence a relationship with us so as to benefit from our various rewarding and empowering initiatives’’, he stated.

While congratulating all the winners, the Divisional Head encouraged them to make wise use of their prizes, particularly the star prize winners, adding that, ‘’they can invest meaningfully and we are ready to offer them free advice if they so wish’’. Akanmu further assured that FCMB will continue to offer the best in service and product offerings in line with its value as a reliable and helpful financial institution.
