Bord Bia, an Irish state agency, and Kerrygold Milk have partnered to promote the consumption of dairy products in Nigeria through their annual milk event.

The event which took place last week, brought together families and milk enthusiasts to celebrate and enjoy the rich quality of Irish dairy, according to a statement.

“The celebration, an annual activity which is in its fourth year, was created to provide a platform for consumers to enjoy the rich quality of Irish dairy, which is Kerrygold milk, with family and friends through engaging and fun activities with exciting rewards,” the statement said.

“Leading up to the milk party, Kerrygold took to the streets of Lagos to gift members of the public select Kerrygold product sizes, ensuring that they were not left out of the World Milk Day celebration,” the statement added.

Ese Okpomo, regional manager of West Africa at Bord Bia, said in the statement that dairy is an important sector for Ireland and that Irish cows are reared naturally enjoying a diet of over 90 percent grass and spending as much time outside making Irish dairy creamy and highly nutritious.

“Kerrygold is dedicated to promoting the health benefits of Irish dairy and creating moments of joy for families,” said Abayomi Adesanmi, head of sales and marketing at Ornua Nigeria.

“The Kerrygold Milk Party at Ikeja City Mall was a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with our consumers directly and celebrate World Milk Day in a fun and memorable way.”
