The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has warned the Nigerian public that it is prepared to prosecute anyone or company that fails to give accurate information needed for the effective completion of the job creation survey which it will commence today.

The bureau is conducting the survey in collaboration with the National Planning Commission, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President fourth quarter 2012 and first quarter 2013 national job creation and labour force survey.

The main objective of the survey is to improve available information and data on the Nigerian labour market through the application of appropriate statistical methodology for tracking variability in the number of jobs created or lost every quarter.

The bureau said that its field officers will be visiting the selected establishments and households between June 18 and July 2, 2013 to collect the required data.

The NBS has therefore solicited from establishments/households the necessary cooperation for the success of this exercise, particularly in completing the questionnaires correctly.
