NMA celebrates outstanding brands, individuals in marketing space

When organisations and individuals go through scrutiny to win awards that are credible and competitive, they revel as the recognition justifies their hardwork, contributions to the industry and achievement in the marketspace.

This was exactly the case last weekend in Lagos when the some organisations and individuals who have made significant mark in the marketing eco-system were rewarded at the second edition of the Nigeria Marketing Award, NMA.

The award with 13 renowned marketing professionals including Iquo Ukoh, Nkechi Ali Balogun, Babajide Fagade, Joan Ihekwab and Feyi Olubodun as jurors has been accredited with ‘Advanced Trust Mark’ by UK based Independent Awards Standard Council.

The winners showed excitement and spoke glowingly about the award.

Tony Agenmonmen, founder of NMA told the audience at the ambience hall of Eko Hotels in Lagos venue of the second edition of the awards last weekend that the award is not just about acknowledging achievements; “it is about honouring the spirit of innovation that drives our industry forward. Let us revel in the magic of marketing for it is in these moments of celebration that we find the inspiration to shape a future that knows not bounds”.

He said the theme for this year, ‘’ Elevate, Innovate and Inspire’ encapsulates the very essence of what we, as marketers, strive to achieve every day. “It represents a call to action for the marketing industry in Nigeria to rise to new heights, embrace innovation and inspire future generations of marketers. It is a testament to our collective commitment to reaching new heights, pushing boundaries and creating lasting impressions that resonate with the hearts and minds of our consumers”.

Iquo Ukoh told the audience and awardees that the award decision council delivered the assignment with every sense of responsibility and integrity.

During the award, Pepsi won campaign of the year; MTN won best reputation management of the year; Life Continental Lager Beer won best alcoholic brand of the year while Reckitt (Dettol) won Best social responsibility campaign.

At the award, Steve Omajafor, who has played in the marketing communication stage for about 38 years; Steve Babaeko, the CEO of X3M Ideas and President of Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN; and late Theodore Austin Mukoro popularly known as Uncle Ted, a former creative director at Lowe Lintas were honoured for their contributions to the growth of the marketing profession.
