DFY Hero, a drag-and-drop website builder designed for small businesses, was acquired six months after its launch in July 2019. The acquisition follows the platform’s rapid growth, attracting 4,000 users who deployed more than 6,000 websites.

Founded by Joshua Firima, Michael Agene, and Uche Nick, DFY Hero was created to help small businesses build websites without technical expertise or high costs. The platform provided pre-designed, industry-specific templates with ready-to-use content, allowing users to launch fully functional websites within minutes.

“Our goal was simple: eliminate the complexity of website building for small businesses that didn’t have the time, budget, or technical skills to get online,” said Joshua Firima, co-founder of DFY Hero. “We knew that if we could provide fully built templates that users could simply customise and launch, it would be a game-changer.”

DFY Hero experienced significant growth since its launch, primarily serving small businesses in the United States. Users included e-commerce stores, local service providers, real estate businesses, and coaching professionals.

Unlike traditional website builders that required users to start from scratch, DFY Hero offered ready-made templates, pre-written content, and an easy-to-use drag-and-drop editor. This simplified the process for non-technical users, enabling them to establish an online presence efficiently.

The terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, but the deal marks a milestone for the founding team, who built, scaled, and exited a SaaS business within a year. The new ownership is expected to continue operating DFY Hero, supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and agencies with website-building solutions.
