GVictoria’s Still Mrs. Cole welcomes you straight into the heart of relationship struggles. From the very beginning, you are placed in the middle of a couple’s conflict, almost like you’re standing nearby, listening and wondering whether to stay or walk away. But then again, who doesn’t have relationship or marital issues at some point?

The front cover of the book looks like a memoir, but it isn’t. It is fiction, though the content feels very real. There is something about this book that feels familiar, and that’s because, as humans, we all go through similar issues.

The author doesn’t waste time. The story unfolds almost like a movie scene, with raw arguments and emotional tension that feel real and immediate. You find yourself patiently watching everything play out, drawn into the drama.

It’s clear that GVictoria writes from a Christian perspective, and this is reflected in the characters. Sena, the main character, is dealing with serious marital challenges, while her husband Fred seems to carry much of the conflict. Thankfully, she is surrounded by supportive “church aunties”, the kind of guidance many people wish they had when facing similar issues.

At some point, you begin to feel impatient, wondering: are they ready to stay together, or should they just go their separate ways? Even when a breakup happens, it doesn’t always mean the end, you start to question whether getting back together is worth the stress, especially when you reflect on your own personal experiences.

Then comes the classic twist: the reappearance of an old flame. These moments always seem to come when relationships are at their weakest. Temptation creeps in, offering comfort, attention, and possibly more. As a reader, you’re torn between understanding the pull and hoping Sena resists it. It mirrors real life, avoiding temptation is never as easy as it sounds.

As you follow their journey, you find yourself judging, choosing sides, and even disliking certain characters for their actions. Yet, the story reminds you that relationships are complex, and fault isn’t always clear-cut.

One thing that stands out is that while the characters have impressive careers, we don’t get to know much about their background especially how Sena and Fred met. Including that might have added more depth and emotional context. However, this doesn’t disrupt the flow of the story. The author clearly intends to focus on the core issues rather than the backstory.

In the end, remarriage becomes a possibility but is it to a different person or to an ex?

Will this marriage truly end, or will it survive the storm? As you read, the book offers hope to anyone facing challenges in their marriage. You come to realize that not all marriages die a natural death.

By the end of the book, you understand why the author chose the title Still Mrs. Cole. GVictoria has promised her readers more stories, and we can’t wait to read them.
