Toke Makinwa luxury perfume collection debut into Nigerian fragrance market

Toke Makinwa luxury perfume collection has debuted into the Nigeria fragrance market.

The unisex perfume collection under the Toke Makinwa Beauty label is the first to be launched by the lifestyle entrepreneur and radio personality.

The new collection comprises three scents – Vogue, Dive and Intense made with the most expensive ingredients with a focus on clean and sustainable ingredients.

Toke Makinwa’s passion for perfume and understanding of the role they played in individual’s daily lives led her to create a brand that celebrates greatness and uniqueness.

“I am very passionate about perfumes and I also believe that regardless of what the economy is saying, people will always spend money on how they look and feel,” she said at the launch on Tuesday in Lagos.

“I am a perfume girl, I love smelling good, so I think we are right in the middle of getting people to be more confident and feel great about themselves and to wear the scents,” she stated.

The lifestyle entrepreneur says she has been working on the perfume collection for three years, noting that the reviews on the products have been great.

“I am super excited to see that people love it and the reviews have been great,” she noted. “The hard work sort of paid off. I built my brand from the things I love doing,” she added.

On which of the scents is her favourite from her collection, Makinwa said she loves all three fragrances.

“Dive is an everyday scent, something you can wear to work on a date, Vogue is very spicy and Intense is sandalwood also deep scented,” she explained.

“We are rolling out a couple of scents; this is the first and not the last, and I do hope that we take this from Nigeria to the rest of the world.”

Speaking also, Frances Theodore, an influencer, who was one of the celebrities and fans including Toke Benson -Awoyinka, Lagos state commissioner for Arts and Culture that graced the occasion, said the perfumes smell so good.

“I am going to try it out. Toke is doing amazing work and we are all proud of her.”

Also, Mercy Aigbe, an actress, said she was there to support Toke, who she described as a strong, hardworking and dedicated sister and friend.

“I am excited about her perfume collection and I say big congratulations to her. I will be trying out the fragrances to see if there is anyone that works well for me.”

Benson-Awoyinka, commissioner also congratulated Makinwa, reiterating Lagos State’s support for creativity.

“Lagos is committed to promoting every creative outlet, I am very proud of you, and I hope you continue to be that role model that you are, congratulations,” she said.
