Praise Party explores mental health as Kunle Remi, Tina Mba lead stellar cast

Brampton Productions, in collaboration with RevAnuli Inc., is set for its cinematic debut with ‘Praise Party’, a family-friendly Nollywood film, illustrates the dynamics of mental and emotional trauma. Led by a stellar cast of Kunle Remi and Tina Mba, the movie delve into the complexities of marital life.

Written and produced by Nigerian Canadian, Anuli Ajagu, CEO, Brampton Productions, and founder of RevAnuli Inc., the movie directed by Obi Martins, a US-based thespian, the movie is set to hit cinemas across Nigeria next month with plans for theatrical release in Canada and the United States of America.

Set in Nigeria, it also highlights the importance of community, seeking professional help, and how taking responsibility, counselling, faith, courage and forgiveness can be therapeutic; bringing healing and restoration to hurting souls.

Premiering in Lagos November 5th, 2023, and going to the cinemas nationwide, on November 10th, 2023, the star-studded production boasts of an exceptional cast including Kunle Remi, Keppy Ekpenyong, Eberechukwu Bayray Nwizu, Tina Mba, Sola Fosudu, Chioma Nwosu, Arinze Okonkwo, amongst others.

‘Praise Party’ delves into the complexities of Tobe Thompson’s narcissistic tendencies toward his wife, Zara Thompson, unveiling the impact of unresolved childhood trauma, societal privilege, and injustice. Zara grapples with intense emotional abuse and social ostracization triggered by marital discord and infertility, shedding light on prevalent yet concealed challenges within African households.

Through a compelling blend of drama and psychological thrills, the film serves as a poignant exploration of these realities, aiming to provoke contemplation and provide audiences with an immersive and captivating cinematic journey.

On July 8th 2023, Praise Party won the coveted ‘Best International Film,’ at the prestigious Charlotte Black Film Festival, North Carolina. The film Praise Party, was also an official selection, and screened at the Canada China International Film Festival (CCIFF) opening weekend, on July 15th 2023, in Montreal Canada. On August 31st, at the CCIFF closing gala awards in Montreal, Anuli Ajagu was awarded ‘Best Producer,’ for the film, Praise Party.
