Firm celebrates health, wellness, community engagement with mini-marathon

Brit Properties, one of Nigeria’s leading real estate companies, has successfully hosted the Brit Mini-Marathon, celebrating the spirit of health, wellness, and community engagement.

The grand finale of a month-long series of activities commemorates its 15th anniversary.

The Mini-Marathon, which took place at Ajah, Lagos, drew close to a thousand participants and was held in grand style.

Winners in both the male and female categories were awarded ₦1 million each, while first and second runners-up received ₦500,000 and ₦250,000 respectively.

Distinguished guests at the event included John Campus, Chairman of Eti-Osa East Local Government Council; Oba Abdulateef Kolawole Lawal-Olumegbon, the Olumegbon of Ajah & Okun-Ajah; Baale Okeiranla, Chief Olufemi Alaba-Ode; and Bright Chimezie, the GMD of Brit Holdings.

Speaking during the event, the Olumegbon commended Brit Properties for using the marathon as a positive platform to engage the youth, promote peace, and foster unity within the community.

“This initiative is a step toward building a stronger, healthier society. I appreciate Brit Properties for thinking beyond business to invest in the wellbeing of our people,” he said.

Bright Chimezie emphasised the importance of giving back to the community, stating that the series of activities reflect Brit Properties’ dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility.

“Our 15th anniversary is not just a milestone for us; it’s an opportunity to impact lives positively. Through health promotion, environmental care, and youth engagement, we are building the kind of communities we want to serve,” he remarked.

He also revealed that the company plans to expand the event in 2026, taking the Mini-Marathon and outreach efforts to an even greater level.
Leading up to the marathon, Brit Properties partnered with Lawma to conduct a community clean-up at Ajah Under Bridge, stressed the importance of hygiene and waste management.

The company also planted 15 trees, symbolizing its 15 years of existence and commitment to environmental sustainability.

In addition, a Community Outreach was organised, featuring the distribution of food to nearly 2,000 people, donation of 1,000 school bags to school children, provision of free medical care, and driver safety training in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). A Talent Hunt also took place, rewarding young talents and providing a platform for youth empowerment.

The success of the Mini-Marathon and associated activities underscores Brit Properties’ commitment to building thriving communities and leaving lasting positive impacts beyond real estate.
