Filmhouse Group, West Africa’s leading film and entertainment company, partnered with Café One, the best coworking space and coffee shop in Nigeria, and TEDx Admiralty to deliver an inspiring and deeply reflective experience in honour of Men’s Day 2025.

Hosted at Filmhouse IMAX, Lekki, the event convened creators, thought leaders, community voices, across on the theme: “Redefining Masculinity.”

More than a celebration, the gathering created a space for men and allies to explore identity, mental well-being, fatherhood, leadership, and the unspoken pressures men navigate today.

Through a blend of storytelling, cinematic visuals, lived experiences, and TED-style talks, participants were invited to reimagine masculinity beyond stereotypes; embracing vulnerability, compassion, and purpose-driven living.

The lineup featured compelling speakers and creatives including Abubakar Suleiman, Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, Tunde Onakoya, Obinna Ukechukwu, Maymunah Kadiri, Olushola Olaleye, Omoruyi and Edoigiawerie, whose insights spanned wellness, career, culture, and personal evolution.

Speaking on the partnership, Kelechi Nwaozuzu – General Manager, Café One.

“We’ve seen firsthand the power of strong, connected communities at Café One and we recognise that the future of these communities depends on the emotional well-being of our boys.

“Our collaboration with Filmhouse to create a space for honest, sometimes uncomfortable conversations is more than an event, it is a defining moment. TEDx Admiralty Way will be remembered as one of those turning points that helped shape a new generation of men in Nigeria.’’

Closing the event, Mojisola Oladapo, Chief Marketing Officer, Filmhouse Group, reflected on the significance of the day:

“Today, I’m grateful we were able to celebrate men in their strength — because there is strength even in moments of vulnerability. Creating spaces that affirm, challenge, and humanise men is not just necessary; it is transformative.”

The collaboration underscores Filmhouse Group’s commitment to shaping cultural experiences that do more than entertain — they elevate voices, ignite conversation, and inspire social change.

By partnering with TEDx Admiralty, and Café One, the Group continues its mission to champion inclusive storytelling, empower communities, and create platforms where society’s most important conversations can take root.

As the energy from this year’s edition carries forward, Filmhouse Group reaffirms its dedication to building experiences that not only celebrate audiences but also equip them to reflect, connect, and grow.
