GIG Mobility (GIGM) has strengthened its national transport network with the opening of a new passenger terminal in Ekwulobia, Anambra State, in a move aimed at expanding inter-state connectivity and improving access to its technology-driven transport services.
According to a statement by the firm, the new terminal, located at Solution Park in Ekwulobia, is expected to serve passengers travelling from the commercial town and neighbouring communities to major destinations across Nigeria, further extending the company’s footprint in the South-East.
With the new facility, travellers will have access to routes linking Lagos, including Ajah, Iyana Ipaja, FESTAC and Jibowu; the Federal Capital Territory and North-Central destinations such as Utako, Kubwa, Maraba and Lokoja; as well as eastern and southern cities including Enugu, Nsukka, Asaba, Benin and Port Harcourt.
The company said the expansion aligns with its strategy of making inter-state travel more accessible while leveraging technology to improve passenger experience across its growing network.
Speaking on the development, Enahoro Okhae, Chief Executive Officer of GIGM, said the Ekwulobia terminal would provide commuters with more travel options while reinforcing the company’s commitment to reliable scheduled services.
“The Ekwulobia terminal will provide passengers with improved travel options, while reinforcing our focus on scheduled services, passenger comfort and safety,” Okhae said.
He noted that the new terminal reflects GIGM’s continued investment in expanding its operations to underserved locations and connecting more communities to key commercial and economic centres across the country.
The opening of the Ekwulobia terminal is expected to improve mobility for residents of Anambra State and neighbouring communities by providing easier access to GIGM’s nationwide transport network.
The expansion comes as transport operators continue to invest in route expansion and modern travel infrastructure to meet growing demand for efficient and reliable inter-state road transportation in Nigeria.
