Access Bank PLC has partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture to unveil the Detty Fusion Initiative—a first-of-its-kind digital platform designed to simplify how Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, discover, plan, and enjoy entertainment events during the festive season and beyond.
Positioned as a revolutionary entertainment aggregator, Detty Fusion aims to bring together event calendars, ticket purchasing, exclusive discounts, curated experiences, and seamless payments—all in one centralised hub.
Launched at the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, the initiative promises to transform how Lagosians and visitors interact with the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
Chizoma Okoli, Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, emphasised the partnership’s potential to amplify Lagos’ reputation as a cultural and creative powerhouse, while also contributing to the broader creative economy.
“Also considering that our beloved Lagos State has grown to be the hub of everything business and fun, we are certain that Access Bank will continuously position the State at the forefront of the creative economy that it is known for,” Okoli said.
Okoli who was represented by Ishmael Nwokocha, group head, Mobility Business, Access Bank, stressed that the goal is to align to “THEMES” agenda of this current administration of Lagos State on the vision, structure, and expectations for this partnership, and explore how Access Bank can work closely with the Ministry to ensure the initiative delivers shared value to the state, to the creative ecosystem, and to the public.
He assured that the bank is committed to a collaborative process, and ready to co-brand and amplify key Lagos State cultural programmes, including the Lagos Cultural week, Culturalti, Fashionshows and much more.
He said Access Bank has a long-standing commitment to supporting ideas and initiatives that strengthen communities, empower young people, and showcase the richness of our cultural heritage.
“Lagos State, as the cultural and creative capital of Nigeria, continues to set the pace in tourism, entertainment, and creative enterprise. This makes collaboration not only necessary, but also highly impactful.”
Okoli said overpriced tickets, absence of accommodation, difficulty in making payments, opportunistic pricing for events, traffic and vehicle breakdown amongst other challenges associated with the Detty December celebration, are the reasons why Detty Fusion Initiative was born.
He said Access bank has partnered key stakeholders to make the Detty December memorable and stress free.
According to him, from accessing HMOs schemes, to booking for entertainment activities, buying tickets and linking people with recreational and tourism events amongst others, Access bank is taking the stress off prior and offering key services to ensure everyone has a memorable festive season.
“So we asked ourselves, how can people really enjoy the festive period without the pain that comes with it? How can we provide accommodation for people coming from other parts of the world and how do we help people create events and initiatives during the festive season?” Okoli said.
He said solving these problems and giving value to ensure there’s some sense of shared value is priority for Lagos State.
Also speaking during the launch of the initiative, Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture said Detty December is here and the good thing about Lagos is that in the last three to four years, Lagos has really grown from music and film to showcasing developments in the fashion industry amongst others.
“There is food, culture and many other things. So we are ensuring that people who take December as their holiday period get the best of it. We are ensuring as a government that we are putting Lagos on the global map. We have built partnerships with brands and stakeholders and we are making sure that together, we build a Lagos that we all want and one we aspire for,” Aregbe said.
Speaking on how ready Lagos is for the Detty Fusion Initiative, he said Lagos is Avery ready, beautiful and calm.
He said Lagos State is happy to see partnerships like that of Access bank because it celebrates the rich culture of Lagos in its food, fashion and other things, thereby showcasing the spirit of Lagos.
“That is why I’m happy about this partnership. This kind of engagement really defines who we are,” he added.
The SA assured that partnering with Lagos State is helping to tell the true story and the true spirit of Lagos so that that culture can be amplified.
He said the Detty Fusion Initiative also fits with the agenda that the current government is pursuing.
“So at the end of the day, we leave pleasurable memories, so that by the time it comes to 2026, it’s seamless, it’s sensational, it’s memorable. We can also build on this going forward,” he said.
