An aircraft belonging to Xejet Airlines on landing at the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA) runway, Lagos on Saturday skidded off the runway.

BusinessDay’s findings show that the aircraft skidded off the runway18L into the grass.

The aircraft with call sign 5NBZZ and type E145 departed Abuja airport at 11.29am on Saturday but on landing at MMA, Lagos, skidded off the runway.

The Fire and Rescue personnel were on ground to help evacuate the passengers.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), in a statement confirmed the incident.

“NSIB confirms that an aircraft belonging to Xejet airlines skidded off the runway at the domestic wing of Murtala Muhammed Airport this morning. A go team has been deployed to the site of the incident,” the Bureau said in a statement confirming the incident.
