businessday-icon

As he made his grand entrance from the roof, looking all sport in a comfortable fitting black hoodie, the uproar was deafening as excited fans screamed and catcalled, Falz’s first ever concert, The Falz Experience is currently trending all over the Internet hours after it held at Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island on Wednesday, December 20. The event has been continuously described as the best music event of the year by many who were in attendance!

I was particularly pleased to note that attention was given to the smallest details, from the stage design, sound, lighting, choreographed dances and acrobatic displays to the spectacular entrance of Falz. Every start and end of an act was in fact an endless supply of hits on the set list and wild crowd reactions; everything about The Falz Experience has been highly commendable.

The fans who would sing along, dance and jump with excitement were put in front and around the flanks, while the VIPs seated around tables were placed at the back on some elevations; making it a first too.

Knowing how critical Nigerians can be, their rave reviews on social media says a lot, connoting that the Falz Experience has set the record of being the most organically talked about show in 2017. The event kicked off with a series of interconnected skits that showed Falz as Folarin the barrister, and Brother Taju in various costumes ranging from an average lawyer to a ‘white garment’ prophet.

The bahd guy has undoubtedly cemented his place forever amongst Nigeria’s elite entertainers and performers, as his first ever headline concert was nothing short of spectacular according to feedback and reactions from fans, critics and industry watchers who were in attendance.

The concert was really an experience and lived up to the hype and high expectations with top quality performances by superstar artistes and Falz collaborators such as Davido, Yemi Alade, Reekado Banks, Simi, Ycee, Chyn, Poe, Phyno, Reminisce among others.

For most performances with fellow artistes, Falz changed outfits which contributed to the storytelling of the entire concert

In fact, so many interesting things happened at the event; from the unforgettable cinematic experience, to the two Falz look-alikes who added a lot of spice to the event. According to some, if not that knowledge of Falzs’ family is in the mainstream, many would have sworn that the two young men are his siblings as the resemblance was quite striking.

Putting in so much hard work and money has indeed paid off for Falz the Bahd Guy, and he’s steadyly setting records for his colleagues, haven been the first Nigerian artiste to win an Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), and now the first to host such a spectacular event for his first-ever headline concert.

Some of the notable celebs present include Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Richard Mofe Damijo, Alex Ekubo, Toke Makinwa, DJ Cuppy, Beverly Naya, Frank Donga, Bolanle Olukanni, Stephanie Coker, IK Ogbonna, Chigul, Deyemi Okanlawon and others. However, the biggest superstar guests of the night were the proud parents of Falz, Mr. and Mrs Femi Falana, who both happen to be successful lawyers and Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN).

Also in attendance were Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos State; Steve Ayorinde, Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Lagos state, Amaju Pinnick, president, Nigeria Football Federation, and many more.

Looking at the scale of this event in terms of budget, planning, final execution and success, and comparing all that with other artiste-owned events that we’ve seen so far in 2017, there’s no doubt that The Falz Experience will surely stand out as the year’s most spectacular show. It will take some serious effort to beat this standard set by Folarin Falana and Bahd Guys Entertainment.
