Last year, GDN Studios, part of The Guardian Group, unveiled Eyimofe (This is My Desire), its debut film. Since then, the movie has been on an extensive tour of the global film festival circuit with at least twenty countries to date. These include the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival 2020, where it had its World Premiere; the British Film Institute’s London Film Festival; and the American Film Institute (AFI) Film Festival. It has garnered several festival awards including ‘Winner, Best Fiction, New Filmmakers’ at the São Paulo International Film Festival (Brazil), and ‘Winner, Achille Valdata Award’ at the Torino Film Festival (Italy).
It continued the festival tours at Vancouver International Film Festival and Seattle International Film Festival where it won the New Directors Grand Jury Prize.
As well, the film had just completed its New York Festival premiere at the 2021
New Directors/new Films, capping an illustrious run at festivals, which started with a World Premiere at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival.
Moreover, on April 18, 2021, the movie had a, just days before opening in cinemas on April 23, 2021.

Cinemagoers who saw the movie at the premiere commended the stellar cast, world class production amid positive feedback from foreign viewers.
Just as the film concluded its cinematic release in Nigeria, Janus Films has announced the acquisition of the Nigerian feature film for the North America market. Based on the agreement, which was sealed recently in the United States, the film will be released in theatres on July 23, 2021 followed by a streaming release on the Criterion Channel and home video release via the Criterion Collection.
Janus Films was founded in 1956 and was the first theatrical distribution company dedicated to bringing international art-house films to US audiences. It handles the rights in all media to an extensive library that includes the work of legendary Senegalese director Ousmane Sembene, Michelangelo Antonioni, Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini, Abbas Kiarostami and Akira Kurosawa.
The Criterion Collection is dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in DVD and Blu-ray editions of the highest technical quality. It includes important classic and contemporary films and serves film and media scholars, cinephiles, as well as public and academic libraries. The Criterion Collection is renowned and includes over 1,000 films.

Fully financed in Nigeria and shot on 16mm, EYIMOFE is the first film from GDN Studios, part of The Guardian Group. It was directed by twin brothers Arie and Chuko Esiri and produced by Melissa O. Adeyemo. Executive producers include; Maiden Alex Ibru, Toke Alex Ibru, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, Kayode Akindele, and Ifeoma Esiri.
Set in Lagos, it is a twochapter film that follows the stories of Mofe (Jude Akuwudike), a factory technician, and Rosa (Temi Ami-williams), a hairdresser, on their quest for what they believe will be a better life on foreign Shores.
