The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and state governors are currently in a crucial meeting in Abuja on how to create a viable agriculture sector that would create needed jobs and cut down high unemployment levels currently at 23.7%.

The governors attending the meeting include those of Ekiti state, Sokoto. Adamawa, Katsina, Zamfara,.Imo, Edo, Benue, Lagos, Bauchi, Anambra, Jigawa, Kebbi, Ogun, Borno, Gombe, Adamawa.

CBN governor who called the meeting while reeling out CBN”s investments and commotments in the agriculture secypr told the governors that the time to develop that sector which has great potential for economic growth and foreign exchange earnings is now.

He narrated instances of how the recent border closure has helped local farmers and encouraged more.of those policies.
