Insecurity: ECOWAS security chiefs meet in Abuja

ECOWAS Parliament seeks enforcement of free movement protocols

Security Chiefs from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have gathered at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters in Abuja for a crucial security meeting.

The event is being hosted by Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff

Attendees included National Security Adviser and the Ministers of Defence, Foreign Affairs, and Internal Affairs, among other dignitaries.

All ECOWAS Chiefs of Defence Staff, Badaru Abubakar, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Ojo, former Senate President Ahmed Lawan, various service chiefs, and heads of other paramilitary agencies in Nigeria.

The high-level meeting aims to address pressing security issues within the region.

The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing regional security cooperation and tackling emerging threats to stability in West Africa.
